| Reminder: City of Toronto plastic bag fee |

(May 6/09) Beginning June 1, retailers in Toronto – including restaurateurs – must charge customers at least five cents per plastic bag.
Full details about the bylaw were sent to all retailers in a letter from the city in mid-May, along with two copies of signs for use at point-of-sale (click here to view a PDF copy of the letter). Retailers can also find more information about the new charge on plastic bags at the following website: www.toronto.ca/5centbag
After May 15, additional point-of-sale signs will be available for pick-up from the following locations:
Toronto City Hall
100 Queen St. W., main floor
Monday - Friday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Scarborough Civic Centre
150 Borough Dr., main floor
Monday - Friday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
North York Civic Centre
5100 Yonge St., main floor
