CRFA fights fat tax idea in Nova Scotia

(Nov. 26/10) CRFA has met with senior government officials to oppose a “fat tax” on high-fat or high-sugar items.

Following the Minister of Finance’s commitment to consult with the public on revenue- generating ideas during his “Back to Balance Sessions,” the notion of a fat tax was proposed. 

Other ideas, such as privatization of the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission, will also be discussed in the upcoming months.
