| Gift card regulations introduced in Nova Scotia |

On Feb. 1, new gift card regulations took effect in Nova Scotia.
Introduced in December 2009, these regulations prohibit expiry dates and fees and outline required disclosure on gift cards and certificates. The regulations aim to protect the value of consumer gift cards, improve disclosure to the consumer, prohibit hidden fees and better align requirements with most other provinces in Canada.
