(Aug. 29/12) Good news for members! Although the maximum number of nominations under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) Semi-Skilled Foodservices Industry (Pilot Project) has been reached, AINP will continue to process applications during the Pilot’s evaluation. Initially, no further applications were to be accepted during the evaluation period; however, AINP has now decided to keep the Pilot open to help the foodservices industry meet its labour needs.
In July, AINP informed CRFA the original terms of the Pilot had been met with AINP issuing the maximum 600 nominations allowed for the three eligible occupations of food and beverage server, food counter attendants, and kitchen helpers. AINP is now evaluating the Pilot’s success to determine if semi-skilled foodservice occupations should be made a permanent stream.
