Dear CRFA Member:As the nation prepares to go to the polls on May 2, the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association has a clear message for election candidates: the $60-billion, one-million employee restaurant industry is too important to ignore!
There is no better time to approach a politician about issues impacting your business than when they are seeking election. Our industry is uniquely positioned to get a message to the federal parties during this election – candidates are visiting restaurants daily while on the campaign trail.
You can help make restaurants matter in this election by using the resources in your Election Toolkit (available on the left):
1. Please post the Restaurant Poster in a visible place in your restaurant.
2. Use the Candidate Checklist to discuss industry issues with your candidates and to make them accountable after the election.
3. Use the Fact Sheets to ask candidates informed questions about the issues that matter to you most.
4. Refer to the Leader Survey & Responses to see where candidates stand on various issues – and make an informed decision when it’s time to vote.
Federal candidates need to hear about the importance of the restaurant industry to their community – and what is needed in the way of public policy to instil business confidence. We want to work together to ensure the industry can invest, create jobs and contribute to the nation’s prosperity into the future.
Together we can make a difference!
Sincerely,

Garth Whyte
